Description of experiment
Below follows a plain text transcript of the selected
experiment.
Needed compounds: ----------------- sulphuric acid : H2SO4 copper tetrammine sulfate mono hydrate : [Cu(NH3)4] SO4 . H2O
Class: ------ elem=Cu precipitation
Summary: -------- Copper tetrammine sulfate only dissolves very slowly in not too strongly diluted sulphuric acid.
Description: ------------ Add some solid copper tetrammine sulfate to some sulfuric acid (appr. 30% by weight): The crystals are covered by a pale blue gelatinous layer. This layer causes them to dissolve very slowly, but finally they dissolve completely.
