This is a sample of titanium powder of high purity (99.9+ %). The pure metal only dissolves in concentrated HCl very slowly. Fluoride, however, quickly attacks the metal.

The particle size in this sample is 250 μm on average.

Below is a picture of titanium in the bulk state. These pieces of titanium show that the metal is grey, but it does have a reflective surface. Each piece has a weight of approximately 20 grams.
