Nickel carbonate usually comes as the basic salt, which can best be described as a compound, containing nickel ions, carbonate ions and hydroxide ions in a single crystal lattice. The compound, shown here most likely has x (see formula at title) equal or close to 2. The color of all different grades of "nickel carbonate" is light green, so this sample is a good representative of the class of "nickel carbonate" compounds.
