This is a sample of almost 50 grams of dysprosium metal. The sample has a size of approximately 5 cm at its longest diameter. The picture, given above, shows one side of the sample, which is somewhat tarnished. The sample is broken from a larger part of the metal and the freshly broken metal surface has much more lustre. That is shown in the picture below.
