Cuprous chloride  -  CuCl

 

 

Pure cuprous chloride is a snow-white compound. Technical preparations always are light green, because of partial oxidation by oxygen from the air. The sample, shown here can better be regarded as a mix of copper (I) chloride and copper (II) oxychloride, with at most a few percent of copper (II) oxychloride.
